About the Project
Project Shakti is a three-year initiative of Chhattisgarh Mitwa Sankalp Samiti, launched in May 2026 with the support of the Azim Premji Foundation. The project aims to build a stronger support system for transgender persons, focusing on rights, identity, healthcare, protection, and self-reliance.
The project supports access to gender-affirming surgery, healthcare, ration cards, Aadhaar name changes, Voter IDs, ABHA and other social security documents. It also provides legal support and protection during crises, along with awareness programmes and sports activities.
Based at Gudhiyari, Raipur, Project Shakti seeks to create a stronger pathway for the transgender community—from rights and recognition to dignity, opportunity, and self-reliance.
